It didn't work in making Avid realize it had a license(after clicking Use License, it still went to the activate dialogue) but it did reset the 30-day trial. Today when faced with this I tried the licensing reset so to speak, by closing Avid Link, appman helper and deleting folders in ProgramData. Clicking Open on Media Composer only goes back to the activate dialogue(you know the one with the four options: activate using Avid Link, usb dongle, start/continue trial and media composer first). But every now and then, Media Composer on one of the computers will start the "your trial has expired" window, even though it already has an activated license. We had some activation/deactivation issues this spring, but that's fixed now. I work at a company with 50+ Avid licenses.
